Texas electrician licenses are valid for one year from the date of issuance and must be renewed annually — the deadline is the expiration date printed on your own license, not a statewide calendar date. TDLR sends a reminder about 60 days out, but the duty to renew runs from your expiration date whether or not the reminder arrives.

What Texas requires before you renew
Finish the continuing education (CE) requirement for your license class, then pay the state renewal fee through the state portal. State fees are set by the board and paid directly to the state — they are never included in any TCS price.
